Access comes first
Providers will want to understand stairs, door width, ceiling height, finished flooring, nearby electrical panels, and whether the tank can be removed whole or needs additional preparation.
Fuel and residue still matter
A tank in a basement may look dry but still contain oil, sludge, or vapour. The tank should be assessed and prepared before movement.
Protecting the home
Ask how the provider plans to protect finished walls, floors, stairs, and door frames. Photos of the route from tank to exit can make quote responses more accurate.
